New piece
on: March 27, 2011, 09:18:14 PM
Hey guys

I'm currently working on Schumann's Abegg Variations and Rach Prelude op.32 no.12 in g sharp, but I need another piece.
Could you give me suggestions of one which would combine with the two above?

Thanks in advance!

Working on:
Bach - Toccata in f sharp minor, BWV 910
Beethoven - Sonata op.57, "Appassionata"
Liszt - "Après une lecture du Dante"
Tchaikovsky - Concerto 1

-Bach Italian Concerto
-Beethoven Sonata, Op 10 #1, 2 or 3
-More Rach Preludes!!!  Maybe do 3 or 4 contrasting ones
-Bartok or Prokofiev maybe? Allegro Barbaro, or maybe Prokofiev's 3rd sonata...

Lots of stuff to choose from!!!  I notice you also have a bunch of other stuff on the go  ;)
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

Thanks!

My intention is to find another short piece, to a 15 min recital, in the final stage of a competition.
I guess i'll just put more Rach, as you said!  ;)
Working on:
Bach - Toccata in f sharp minor, BWV 910
Beethoven - Sonata op.57, "Appassionata"
Liszt - "Après une lecture du Dante"
Tchaikovsky - Concerto 1

Why not a more contemporary piece to round up your selection? Short selections, due to the time limit. Perhaps, Bartok dances, Bernstein Anniversaries, Barber Excursions, Prokofiev shorter pieces, .....(endless choices!)  ;D
Best of luck!
