Beethoven Piano Concerto no. 1 op. 15 is it hard?

Beethoven's Piano Concerto no.1 is soo nice to hear and play, I was wondering if it is a good ''starter'' concerto?

I'll give you samples of what I play..

ROMANIAN FOLK DANCES by Bartok
THE GIRL WITH THE FLAXEN HAIR by Debussy
RONDO ALLA TURCA by W.A. Mozart
SONATA ''PATHETIQUE''- L.V. Beethoven
FANTASY IMPROMPTU- F.Chopin

so that's what I've currently learned.


Or if you can recommend an easier concerto that would be GREAT!

Easier concertos -
Haydn D Major
Mozart #17 in G
Mozart #8 in C
Kabalevsky Youth Concerto in D

Just curious:  do you have an orchestra you can play with?  I ask because I've avoided downloading concertos because the piano is only part of the piece... and it just seems like I'd be stumped by the missing parts.

I did but a couple books of piano transcriptions of symphonies, done by Busoni, that I thought might be satisfactory in that regard, but then they really don't have "piano parts".  It's been an imperfect experience, for me, at least.

You should be okay. Based on your repertoire, it is perfectly fine to start studying Beethoven 1.

Haydn in D Major, Kabalevsky 3, as well as Shostakovich 2 would be good choices too.

There`s a american site that sells the orchestraL part of many concerts. It sends it to us by download. So it is allways possible to play a concert at home. I dont remember the name of that site. And yes, the no 1 is one of the easiest ))
