Who holds a music degree here? [Bob asks]
on: August 13, 2004, 09:27:52 AM
Who in pf holds a music degree?  A bachelor of music, music education, performance, master, doctorate, etc.

(not that a degree makes you a better pianist or a better teacher, but I think it does indicate more understanding of music)

I'm finishing my BMus in performance this year.  I plan on attending graduate school when I am finished.

Why do you need to know people's credentials?

I have 2 music degrees.

What's wrong with asking that?  He didn't say that he "needed" to know, and he added that it doesn't necessarily make a person a better pianist or teacher.  I think many people here are curious about the other members.

Nothing. :)  Your question sounded argumentative, that's all.  I'm sure that you didn't mean for it to come across that way. :)
