Piano music in olympic commercial
on: August 14, 2004, 04:42:56 AM
I just saw an olympic commercial sponsored by the Home Depot. In the background was piano music. It sounded really dramatic and I'm wondering if it is an actual piece or just music specially made for the commercial. Anyone else hear this and recognize it?

Yes! It's funny, I was just about to post about this Yundi Li commercial.  I had a double take when I saw him riding a bike, then jumping off to harmonize with the symphony playing Greig.  On the thread on how to get famous, there's a good way!

Yep...I also saw the yundi li one. I was talking to my dad about something and it came on and I'm like "hey it's Yundi Li." I pleased to see piano in commercials, but what does piano have to do with the olympics? Hmmm...maybe they should make piano an olympic event.

I just heard the HD commercial.  Sounds to me like a piece composed just for the commercial - not classical.  I did notice however, that in the Samsung commercial, they stole the music from The Truman Show (Opening), and in another (forgot what for) they took Horner's Braveheart... I was moderately surprised.

I know that there was a commercial that used Le Cygne, another used Grieg's A minor, and another used Humoresque (the one that all the aspiring violinists play).
