I'm listening to Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto. I'm finally biting the bullet and learning it... Something I've wanted to do since I was 15.

The playing, yes.  The piece, though, wears itself out.

I think it was something like, "Shake that Ass."   ::)

I clicked on some trending youtube video, then something else a few times, then someone's playlist apparently.... and then wondered what I was listening to.

And that's why I can't sign into the same email account at home that I do at work. ::)

I read not many days ago that Pleyel was a composer, which I was unaware.  A few quantum moments ago I checked the music playing on Allclassical and read that I was listening to Pleyel's String Quartet in C, Op. 2, 2.  It is rather good.

How serendiptious.  Or, here's to quantumerriment.   ;)

i think it's incredible we have audio and video of Lev Oborin (won the first Chopin competition in 1927), his playing  has that hard to describe quality that i love from so many pianists from that magic era that lasted till oh maybe 1970 (from say 1920) or so

That is very clever and I enjoyed the various effects, thanks for posting it. The technique would perhaps work best with music possessing a regular pulse and clearly defined harmonic changes.

Here's the latest electro swing treated piece,  ah 8ts so good !!!

I listened to this a few nights ago.  Liapunov's 2nd piano concerto.
Brace yourself for beautiful red-golden music.  It is beautiful and a surprise in the repertoire with a great romantic theme.

Liapunov also wrote some transcendental etudes of the highest quality (rip-roaring).  But you may know those from your repertoire adventures.  I wonder if Liszt heard them.

I guess we'll never know.  8)

They are c. 1900, so unfortunately, no.

A magnificent collection of etudes.
