Hamburg Steinway Model A
on: August 18, 2004, 11:03:24 AM
I just purchased a Hamburg Steinway Model A today... its perfectly CLEAN, and in MINT condition.  Built in early 1990s.  I got it for a certain price... I'm wondering if I got a good deal... how much are these worth usually?  I've looked ALL over the net for an available Hamburg model A, but I could not find ANY!  All I found were NY Steinways and the only other Hamburg Steinways I found were the huge concert grands... the A model is 6'2" (188 cm)... anyway I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me how much these are usually worth... thanks in advance!

well, that must be a fine sounding piano.  I saw a hamburg steinway for sale on ebay (Im pretty sure it was ebay) .  yes there is one for sale, 1994, model D (just under 9').  in Los Angeles concert hall, $68k, no bids yet.   I own a Bosendorfer 200, a Bluthner 6'3", 6' Bechstein and an August Forster.  The nicest sounding piano is the Forster, then the Bosendorfer.  The Bluthner is a real fine piano and the Bechstein is a little bright for me in the room that it is in.
