Hello everyone,

I'm looking to identify this old Bösendorfer piano. It has been in my possession for some time, but I never tried to ID it.It's probably from late 19th century. This is the only picture for now.

Do you have the number of the piano? Should be found on the soundboard middle near the dampers.
To know more about it, you should show a photo of the action.

It looks like the old pianos using the wienna-like actions.

What a punny lovely little piano.  Those get rebuilt all the time, and turn out marketable since they have a nice name and are not too big.  Not my cup of tea, but take a look at www. luxurypianos.com and here, for example:

Money does not make happiness, but it can buy you a piano.  :)

I see someone's trying to break the one remaining hinge on the lid of that poor old piano....   :(

Picture wise, if you slide out the music rest, it would be nice to see pictures of the hammers.
Also, a picture of the tuning pins area. This should help dating it more accurately.

Save that nice little beast. That's to nice of a piano to let fall into disrepair. :'(  You're so lucky to have it. ;D

Up to about 1910 you could choose Vienna style action or a more modern London style one, which we could see from a photo of the hammers. I would also like to see if it has an open pinblock, (wood visible around the tuning pins). If you look underneath the piano, you may see the serial number on various components. Many factories numbered the parts so they didn't get mixed up after polishing.

To most people, the type of action is more important than the age of the piano. It looks a very nice piano.
