Is Debussy's Reverie playable by an ABRSM Grade 5?

Thanks. :)

Er...

Pieces may be (subjectively) classified as this or that grade, not pianists.

Pianists can (and will) play whatever they want.

The question is, what will stop you?

Or putting it another way:

What will happen if you do?

Finally, no, Reverie cannot possibly be played by a "grade 5 player". Now, go and prove me wrong! ;)

Good luck,
Bernhard.

Reverie is one of my all time favourite pieces of music.  Absolutely beautiful.  I would say it's  more difficult than a grade 5 piece. It's such an expressive piece of music and needs  a mature touch to create that special atmosphere.

You will no doubt find it difficult, but definitely worth the challenge.  Analyse it carefully away from the piano and listen to recordings of it while following the score.

I think this piece is so aptly named.
