Piano Street Magazine:
Wagner’s Universe in a Pianist’s Hands

One of the most thrilling performances offered at Cremona Musica this year was the Wagner by Liszt recital given by Filippo Tenisci – Italian pianist, born 1998 and celebrated for his refined interpretations and expressive mastery of the Romantic repertoire. After his recital we got the chance talking to Tenici about his Wagner/Liszt project. Read more

It is interesting that you group these two together. I can't really suggest any Satie, but I would suggest any album by Yann Tiersen, I have found them all very enjoyable ( in a non pianisic sort of way!).

Tiersen blows.... Satie sucks.  I guess I can't hlep much, but Satie has some popular Gymnopedies (esp. #1), as well as the vexingly popular, Vexations (see how long you can take).  Tiersen has written some music for Amelie (Valse de Amelie, Sur le Fil, Comptine d'Un Autre Été) but it has little musical value imo..
Some similar new age composers like Tiersen (not Satie) would be Yanni, David Lanz, etc.

How can you compare Yann Tiersen to Yanni? That is absolutely ridiculous!
I would say that a discussion of his "piano" music doesn't really belong on this site, but I wouldn't say that it doesn't have value.

Well, first of all, they both have the same name (sans the 'i'..).  Secondly, both are new age composers utilizing the piano as their main instruments, usually with accompaniment from various other instruments (accordion, organ, etc.).  However, one composes for movies while one does it for the heck of it (both give concerts though).  Their music shares common ground.
And I didn't say it doesnt have value - it has $37.96 value at Amazon.  Just no musical value.

Satie sucks.  quote]

hm, how on earth can you mean that? That is to me totally strange. And, Yann Tiersen certainly have musical value! anyway, I can play most of the pieces yann tiersen has made for piano. They're really beautiful. Erik Satie is also very beautiful - to me music doesn't have to be complicated to be good... :) well, thanks for the tip, anyway.
