Piano trios for intermediate students
on: July 28, 2011, 05:20:15 PM
I'm looking for some piano trios for some of my students to work on. My students are playing at an intermediate/late-intermediate level. However, in each trio, one of the students is at least a year behind the others. Does anyone have any suggestions for trios for students with varying abilities? I'm already looking ahead to our next piano recitals, so I wouldn't mind holiday trio suggestions too. Thanks!

Hi!
I'm actually new in teaching chamber music, but C. Bohm Piano trio op. 352 no. 4 (F-major) worked very well for me (my students).
There are 6 Trios in the op. 352 set and I don't know the rest, but No. 4 is actually qute effective. A well-built 1st mov., a sweet and short 2nd mov., and a fast Finale.
And we're moving on to Haydn Gypsy Trio this year.
