My trills are slow...
on: September 01, 2004, 08:07:12 AM
I’ve looked through most of the previous posts about trilling, but none had the info I wanted, so I’m making this thread. I’d especially like to have some advice from Robert Henry and Bernhard (hint hint)
.
Here’s trill technique as I understand it: small movements, slightly raised wrist with combination of finger work and rotation from the wrist along with constant contact with the keys. Also, for delicate trills, try to play at the escapement level (I think it’s called that) where you press the key just enough for it to sound and reset.
Trills in my LH between two black notes are decent. Trills in my RH, especially high in the treble, are the worst. I don’t have trouble keeping them going, it’s just that they’re sluggish. Can you give ideas about opening up my trills?
Thanks!
