Very newbie questions here, any suggestion pls.

Hi, I'm learning piano for a week(from many sites but will buy those Alfred's piano teaching book soon),it's one of my dream to play piano, and so far it's very fun for me to enter the world of music.
However, there is some problem that obstruct me a little, which is one of my fingers often press 2 keys at the same time when I play a song.
So, I wonder that is this wrong fingering always occur with beginner or it's happen because I place my hand wrongly? or because my hand is so tiny as girl although I'm a male in late 20s
Another question is: Is it normal to learn many genres of piano song? I randomly like songs in many styles such as classical, blues, pop but I don't know if it's ok to pick to learn only the songs I like.
Thank you for your suggestion

That's awesome that you're learning! I started late too.. well I thought it was late. Until I got on here and realized people started at 20.
I started at 13.
I think it's normal that you will hit two keys at a time. It just takes practice to get used to the position. Once you learn the fingerings and stuff it will definitely help you out.
I love playing different genres of music. It's nothing abnormal. I actually think it's great to play different things, because if you play all the same stuff it's kinda boring.
Good luck! : )

You can use your tactile sense to check if you are going to press two keys at once. When your finger is placed in between two keys you should feel the gap between them. When your finger is only placed over a single key you should feel the smooth key surface.
In time you will adapt to the piano's physical dimensions and automatically place your fingers over the correct keys to be played. There are many pianists with small hands, so I would not worry about it so much.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
