Problems with scales
on: October 10, 2011, 10:48:50 PM
I've been practcing scales for about a month...

I've read all benhard's posts (and others', of course) about scales and practcing, but I still have a gap when doing, for example, the passage of 4th finger on Eb to C and then the 3rd finger on Eb to F

Can someone help, me?

I'd guess that the thumb is underactive. Are you practising literal thumb-under or only thumb over? Either way, the thumb needs to engage properly. I'm just finishing off a post including a thumb exercise for use in scales that is designed to activate it better. Just need to get some videos completed and it will be up within no more than a few days.
