Bush & Gerts Chicago
on: October 30, 2011, 09:23:39 PM
I have a Bush & Gerts Chicago Piano. It is an upright. Model #51970, I wanted to know how old this piano is and what the value is. The piano is in good shape just needs to be tuned.

I'm guessing around 1912-1913.

Excellent guess, Pianoplayji !! According to the Piano Atlas, that serial no. is 1913.
Unless that piano has been restored or has had extensive work done, I wish I had a nickle for every time "it only needs to be tuned."
Hard to tell its value on the internet. It would have to be appraised by a knowledgeable technician that has experience in appraisals. If it is all original, I wouldn't count on it being worth much. However, that doesn't count it out as being a nice piano that a musician can have a good time with.
