About Sonetto 123 del Petrarca
on: October 31, 2011, 02:25:52 PM
I am going to learn Sonetto 123, which was written by Liszt. This is my first time dealing with such difficult piece(for my standard lol
), I was flinched at the sight of the complicated notes, and the weird chord progression, and the frightening interval between those notes. My hands are big enough to cover those notes but I don't know I can play this song beautifully or not. Do you guys have any advice on this pieces? And what should I know about this piece? Thank you.

Good luck with this piece, it is one of my favourites by Liszt. First you should translate the poem into your own language. You should also know that it was a song, by Liszt, before he transcribed it for piano. So sing the melody, and take time, as a (good) singer would.
