Major scale doubt
on: November 02, 2011, 09:57:44 PM
Friends, I have learnt that every scale has some particular pattern
C - D - E - F - G - A - B - C

Now, if we look at the whole-steps and half-steps between each note of the C MAJOR SCALE, we find this pattern:

W - W - H - W - W - W - H

and similarly for G major or F major. Any major u say

G - A - B - C - D - E - F# - G
F - G - A - Bb - C - D - E - F

Can someone explain me how this W/H theory is applied and this major scales are derived

Instead of going on and on about music theory here's a couple sites that will help:
https://www.musictheory.net/index.html  or this one:

Good luck...
