Piano Street Magazine:
The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

I've been working on the Super Mario Bros. 2 theme for a while. Maybe I should post it in the audition room.

I would LOVE to hear a great pianist perform an improvisation of the Mario Bros theme or other video game as an encore. Denis Matsuev would totally be game.

Speaking of encores, I think we should also outlaw La Campanella! It's reached the point where Alice Sara Ott will play it 3 times during her concert and then twice again for her encores ;)

I've never been to a concert but repeating pieces?? That sound awful! If I wanted to hear something twice I would buy a CD!
Sorry, that just bugs me.
