Check out my new baby!
on: November 12, 2011, 07:04:56 AM
Post a pic later.   I'm worried about negative comments and so I couldn't delete it so I modified it.   It's a rebuilt Knabe from 1901.

Wow, congratulations! did you mean like rebuilt as in repaired? Knabe , I heard is handcrafted just like other piano brands but in limited production, I think. I don't know. You're lucky to acquire one.

BTW, is it an upright or grand?
Funny? How? How am I funny?

Knabe is a nice piano. Don't worry about negative comments. Most negative comments come from "what people heard" and not what they know. Congratulations on your find. Knabe is in my my list of maybes too. Good value.

wow!  She's a beauty.  Check it out.  It's totally redone with Renner action, all the best German parts and it comes with a five-year warranty and he's delivering me the piano.  I researched pianos for the last four days extensively and I knew I wanted a rebuilt older one  Yes, it's a grand (parlor).

His name is Clint and he's at
www.grandamericanpiano.com   :D That's Clint, my restorer, who I found nearby.  He donated a kidney!  Wow!
At first I was like, I have to have a black piano -- so closed minded and then I started looking and saw these beautiful pianos and I was sold and I never looked at a black piano again.
If you go to his website he is sitting at a 1888 Weber Rosewood with 88 keys -- rare to have that many keys -- and it's so beautiful.  I thought about getting that one because of its rarity but it wasn't quite my style.
Let me know if you can click on the piano!  Thanks.   I don't want my feelings hurt that's why I don't do facebook. ;D

Here's the link.  This isn't where I got it, obviously, because that's been sold awhile back but it was better pics than the ones he sent me and it's just as beautiful and mine has better parts all the best from Germany, best strings, etc.  and nothing from Japan like this one.

I can't quit looking at it and that hand-rubbed Honduran Mahogany is exquisite!

Let me know if you can click on the link.  If not, we'll have to wait until he delivers the piano and I will post another pic once it's found its new home, which I will do anyway, if I can figure that out.  I hope my little doggie isn't jealous!

Nice...I like how it has an antique design  to it and yet it looks so new even though it was made in 1901! I like the colours too.  ;D

Thanks!   :D
Yes, I opened the link from my phone and it works just fine.   Glad you like it!  Yes, I think it's a perfect blend -- clean looking yet some nice design that's not too ornate.  It's perfect!

Did you check out that Weber he's sitting at on his website?  It's amazing, the detail and the rosewood.  This piano (Knabe) would look better in my house since we have a contemporary flair to our home.

Just opened the link in my Explorer and now I see it. I just never use Explorer.
The new baby looks great! Fine looking craftsmanship and I love the finish. Like you said, it will look good in your home. Congrats...

Unfortunately, the pics didn't show on a Mac. Browsing this guys site, I'm willing to bet you scored a real nice piano. Congratulations. An American classic.

It's coming tomorrow!  Had to get over the Snoqualmie Pass (it was on consignment to a store in Bellevue), so he's bringing it tomorrow, plus he probably wants his money before I get cold feet!  HA!
I'll post a few pics later!

The new baby has arrived and it is amazing the sound.  I have already given many accolades to my guy Clint at www.grandamericanpiano.com on other posts that people might think I'm getting something for it, but the guy is truly an inspiration, donating a kidney to his mentor from Germany and my experience with him from a professional standpoint.  Thank goodness my dog is not jealous of the new baby!  She still wants to sit on my lap while I play my songs on my not so deserving piano.   We love each other and that's all that matters.

I think I read a piece on the PTG Journal about your guy Clint a while back. Sounds like a great human being. All the best to him and to you and your new addition.
