Improvisation, CD73, track 1, conclusion

Let's flush out all this hoaxing rot with a solid dose of improvisation. I think I shall start posting smaller sections of my playing than previously. People are more likely to listen to ten minutes than an hour, or even half an hour. The sound quality can also be improved.

This is the final ten minutes of a rather ominous sounding cellular recitative, centred on the left hand combination of G#,D#,A, a sound I heard in several places in Jarrett and it stuck in my mind.

I am always keen to expand my range of climaxes and endings within improvisation. The traditional varieties of the big bang, the oscillatory two chord orgasm, the fade out, are all starting to annoy me as remnants of mannerisms long dead. The entity at around 3:40 to 4:10 here seems to be what might be called a Shepard climax, by analogy with Shepard tones. In theory, one could achieve an impression of perpetually building climax simply by smoothly changing the cell content. I had not thought of it before but now I shall explore it and see how fertile it is.
