Solo version of Malediction?
on: September 06, 2004, 07:30:39 PM
I know there is the solo version of Totentanz, however I have also heard there is a solo version of Liszt's Malediction for piano and orchestra. Does anyone know anyone about this, because this is one of my favorite pieces however it is almost never performed in the full orchestral version because of the uncomfortable string writing, and a solo version would make this piece readily accessible to me.

Jeez, I never even heard of this work!  But thanks for mentioning it- I just requested Louis Lortie's recording from the local library.

Really? I'm going to go check this score out! I absolutely love the Malediction! A little unconventional, but an absolutely fantastic piece, IMO. Alfred Brendel plays this piece well.

ok Donjuan, but I have to convert it to a wma and depending on the size might have to downgrade it slightly, so I'll send it as soon as I can.
