Pieces with 3 voices
on: December 08, 2011, 08:39:48 PM
Could someone please tell me some pieces with 3 voices along the lines of:

1. Arietta (Level 5 Pianostreet) By Grieg Opus 12 No. 1

2. Sweet Souvenir (Level 6 Pianostreet) By Mendelssohn Opus 19 No 1 (Song without words)

These seem similar to me. Are there pieces with 3 voices at every level from 1 to 8+?

It would be great if someone could post some of these in increasing level of difficulty.

Thank you.

There is another wonderful peice by Mendelssohn called songs without words op102 no 4 in g minor. I was listening to this piece played by another fellow in our class. I felt compelled to listen to more Songs and discovered more songs where there were 3 lines. Listen to more Songs without words and you will see.

I would consider Chopin Etude Op.25 nr. 7 as in three voices.  In this case three voices does not necessarily mean a verbatim of three notes, but three voice lines.

Also have a look at the Bach Trio Sonatas BWV 525–530.  The were written for organ, but numerous piano transcriptions exist.  In these works each of the three voices take on a very independent character.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
