Grade of these pieces
on: December 15, 2011, 10:52:55 AM
Hello everyone! I was wondering, if you were to set an ABRSM grade on these pieces grade would  you set them at?

Here are the pieces I had in mind:

Sonata D 959 Andantino 2nd movement (Schubert)
Impromptu op 90 no 3 (Schubert)
Impromptu op 90 no 2 (Schubert)
Moment musical op 94 no 4 (Schubert)
Moonlight sonata 3rd movement (Beethoven)
Nocturne op 27 no 2 (Chopin)

Cheers!

The pianostreet has a built in list of grades on many many pieces.
You might want to look at it.
Other than that, if you search to forum for "grade this", you will have 1000+ results. Tad annoyed.
Repertoire.
2011/2012

Brahms op 118
Chopin Preludes op 28
Grieg Holberg Suite
Mendelssohn Piano trio D minor op 49

All grade 8+

Schubert op 90/3 is in DipABRSM list, as is the whole Moonlight Sonata.
Schubert op 90/2 is on ATCL (not spoiling your thread with ABRSM/TCL debates)
Chopin op 27/2 is on LTCL

The Schubert op 94/4 I have never played... Individual Sonata movements tend to get set for Grade 8 regardless of the standard of the complete sonata. The complete D959 is on FRSM/FTCL.
