How Many Hours Should You Practice the Piano? – The Lines Between Science, Method and Passion

It is a timeless question, a persistent voice in the mind of every pianist: “How many hours must I practice to truly improve?” It springs from a perfectly legitimate desire to measure the commitment required to transform our ambitions into sound, whether that means playing a simple minuet or dreaming of the world’s most prestigious stages. Casio CTK-3000 vs Casio LK-165 Lighted Keyboard
on: January 06, 2012, 03:49:20 PM
Hello everyone,

Actually I'm just a beginner amateur and I've been a piano music fan for a long time but this is my first time to consider buying a keyboard.

My budget is within 140$ at max for the price of the keyboard because I live in Egypt, it's gonna be shipped but at an extra charge via online shopping sites Amazon, Ebay, etc..

After a lot of research I've come to those -The CTK-3000 & LK-165- for the budget and features as well,
What do you recommend for me? Also if you can tell me about something better but within budget, Go ahead.

Thank you in advance :)

Hi Blur,
Welcome to the forum.
I'm not a fan of Casio but if you're going to be teaching yourself then the LK might be the way to go. I started teaching myself on a lighted keyboard too. It helped me work on fingering and muscle memory so I think for a beginner this was a valuable tool.
Good luck...

Hi blur
I don't know much about those two keyboards. There is this site I recently discovered where there are keyboards under the price of $100. I haven't fully checked out the site to tell if it is a good site or jsut a rip off. but I think you might be a bit hard pressed to find a keyboard with 88 keys. But still, check it out becuase you never know. YOu may wanna browse the site a bit more and find which ones you like and then see if ebay/amazon etc has some of them.

And there is also this link to Yahoo answers which provides further links to youtube about the keyboards. I know it's not much but I hope it makes your decisions a bit easier. Good luck with your find.
