Piece for audition

Hi everyone,
I would like you to suggest some pieces (bet. 10-15 mins) to add in my audition program. No Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Rach please as I already have them.

Can you be more specific? Any certain level, or perhaps period or type of piece. What do you already have?  This is an audition for...?

Well, if you already have all those periods covered, not knowing anything else, I would suggest you go 20th century or contemporary.  I have a number of favorite composers from this period-if you want some suggestions, I'll be glad to give them.

Try a Rautavaara sonata or a late Scriabin sonata.

Liszt - Mephisto Waltz No. 1

-I know 3 people who auditioned for Manhattan school of music and made it with this in their repotoire...

Knew them.. as in "knew them personally"

Okay, I'll be a little more specific.
I already have these in my program:
Bach: Toccata in E minor BWV 914
Beethoven: Waldstein Sonata
Chopin: Ballade in G minor
Rachmaninov: Etude in E flat op. 33-6
I'm thinking of adding perhaps Scriabin or something else. Please help.
(P.S. It should be about 10 mins as my total program should be about 50 mins.)

I would add Ravel's Sonatine.

If you want a real challenge, and wish to add Scriabin, I would suggest his fifth sonata.

I think you should change the Chopin to something less overplayed...but whatever. I agree with the Scriabin 5th Sonata.

I would go with the 1st Scriabin to be more unique, as the 5th is the most common of the 10. Anyways, you could add a Prokofiev Sonata (the 7th in particular), maybe the Ravel Toccata. The Mephisto Waltz is too overplayed and won't get you far. Maybe if you played the second or third one, you could surprise them! That's all I can think of for now!

The First sonata is longer than ten minutes, but you could always play the 7th or 9th sonatas, or maybe play Vers la Flamme (an amazing piece in my opinion).

I know it is typical for donjuan here to suggest Liszt, so I wont do it in this post....Instead, I will ask:
Are you interested in playing Liszt along with the other composers?  If so, I can probably suggest some great Liszt that would go really well!!
And it is NOT Mephisto Waltz!

Well, I was looking at your list, and perhaps you could look at Valse Oubliee No.1 or Valse Impromptu.  You already have plenty of flashy fast pieces, so have the more intimate kind of Liszt.  Think about Sonetto 104 del Patrarca, however, the best piece I can recommend to compliment absolutely everything in your list is the Wagner-Liszt Opera Transcription "Liebestod from 'Tristan and Isolde'".  Oohh.. It is breathtaking!

How about Sessions' Second Sonata?  It's very dissonant, but has lots of interesting rythms and is a very driving, forceful work (also quite challenging).
