Open access recording label?

Is there such a thing?

I am thinking in similar terms as open access journals.  Lets say I wished to make a professional recording of some material, however not release it under the traditional constraints of a recording label. 

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
