Yundi li hand size
on: January 19, 2012, 07:08:04 AM
I heard somewhere that yundi li can easily span an octave using his index finger and his pinky, but i really don't think thats possible

I have small hands and I can span a 6th with said fingers -so probably.

My hands are of average size, and I can do it.
Why would anyone want to play an octave that way though...

i meant he can stretch an octave with these two fingers but can still use his thumb to play every further keys.
basically, he's perfectly comfortable playing an octave like that.

I can play an 9th with 2-5, I don't see how it would be that useful though. I have only seen a couple pieces that have chords this large, and usually they are arpeggiated.

It's possible with normal a normal hand size. But it's a tad bit uncomfortable.
