GRANADOS, Enrique
on: September 14, 2004, 03:22:23 AM
I've recently discovered this composer and I like him very much. He's very spanish sounding (go figure) and quite interesting. Has he come up in the forum before/ What do you guys think of this composer? I like his Oriental and Andaluza form his Danzas espanolas suite. And especially his Illusory serenade.

anyone who knows what I am talking about..
I teacher played "The Maiden and the Nightengale" for me, and I thought it was absolutely breathtaking - It had shimmering qualities- like being out by a refreshing lake- the moonlight rippling across the water, and there were very sad moments where you wish time would freeze long enough for you to absorb the emotional response and cry.

A girl in my class is playing the Maiden and the Nightingale, and it's the best thing ever! I love it! It sounds rather tricky. The good thing about it seems to be that you can really get into it while you're playing and move around in it. The girl I know who plays it seems to say something different every time.

I know that piece Donjuan. Your're right, it is just as beautiful as anything written by anybodyelse in it's own unique way. A great piece.
