piano progress

I started out learning middle C position both hands and i play a few songs from my book I spent about a month learning new songs and felt i was good , Then I decided to move on to the Next step which was  normal C position both hands I was struggling at first but after two weeks now I am getting better playing new songs in that position,  I noticed when I went back to middle C and played some of the first songs I learnt I was struggling with them   . My next step will be G position now I am just wondering if I  a ready to move on how do you know when your ready to move on and progress more  .

I would say when something becomes easy and boring in the early stages. But I am no teacher!
When a search is in progress, something will be found.
