Yamaha P95B Headphone jacks too big?
on: February 10, 2012, 12:18:22 AM
Hello everyone, recently bought a new P95B from Yamaha and I've been trying use my headphones with them. There are two headphone jacks on the front and the manual claims that they should be compatible with any standard headphone jacks, but I've tried inserting three different pairs and it seems the jacks are just too deep to be able to insert anything in it. Wonder if I should just use a pen to get in, or do I need another wire to connect the two? Any advice from people who have dealed with this would be greatly appreciated.

There are two sizes of headphone jacks: the large 1/4" size and the small 1/8" (or 6.5 mm) size.
Most equipment has the larger 1/4" size. If you headphone have the smaller 1/8" plug you'll need an adapter. That's all.
Many headphones come with just such an adapter. But if you don't have one, a local electronics shop might have one. Or get it online from Amazon.
