Just had my first lesson on it on Monday. This will get better but here's what I have for now. Please let me know what you think. I love Debussy!

Hi liszt85

This is technically difficult piece that presents frequent challenges to the pianist.  I believe that you play it very well, as it is entirely convincing.  Congrats on this fine achievement!

Thanks David! When I started working on this piece 3 weeks ago, I did not imagine that I could play it decently well anytime soon but I have a great teacher now and he breaks down technical difficulties into smaller easier problems for me and so I now have a better idea about how to practice some of these things. Seems to be working so far. :)

That is totally accomplished considering you only worked on it for 3 weeks ! Most everything seems to be just right here (expect the sound quality). I like your rallentando on the descending 'cluster' chords. I always have problems with these, and may want to copy that idea now, as I fancy it may make them just a tad easier.

I just saw this now.  I think that the non-read posts list is edited every once in a while, and I miss  a lot of postings.  I love these preludes.  Note-wise, you're very capable of playing this.  What's missing now is a certain touch, a certain legato, for example, in the opening motif.  It's perhaps a little too percusive at the moment.  However, I'm sure you have a great teacher and I'm not about to give any advice.  This is just an impression I have as a listener.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on it still. I love these preludes too!

Hi Chris, try using flatter fingers on those descending chords (not sloppy fingers, but firm). I promise you it will sound better and it will feel easier. ;)

Hi! Great work! A question: how do you work in the fast 4-5 fingers of the right hand in the whole prelude? Thanks in advance, sorry by my english

I see this reply only now  :-[
That seems a most useful advice, thanks. I'll remember it when I next play this piece.

Very well played! (Would like more "p's" and "pp's" on the sixths and in general, but I can tell the piano has its limits.) Excellent work! One can tell that you personally identify with Debussy's music.
