Original price on 1958 Baldwin 'R'??
on: February 18, 2012, 02:36:46 PM
Hello, in my family's possesion is a Baldwin 5'8" model R that my father bought new. I've done a search on the serial number which puts it's build date at between 1957-1958. I seem to recall my father saying many years ago that he bought it in 1958, however I don't know what he paid for it or what it listed for. I did a search for original prices but couldn't find anything. Does anyone here have an idea as to what they went for during that time? It's not for selling purposes, I'm just curious. Thank you!

This might help. Canada in 1953 a high end 5'10" grand was $2455.00.
The 7 foot semi-concert was $2885.00 and the concert grand 8'11" was $5035.00 ( ebonized)

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.
