Seeing that no one replies to this thread I would say that my favourite sets of preludes come from Scriabin op 11 especially no 14 which I dropped after a few days for being too hard for me to learn despite being mentioned as 7th grade standard in one exam board. I find there is a lot of disparity in Chopin's preludes, IMO. There are preludes that I downright hate so much and it is most of them, but there are preludes that I love so much I play them all the time. So Scriabin gets my vote.

For me these are definitely Preludes by Debussy.
Best regards, Dr

i think as a set in terms of overall well constructed and very pretty and i don't get tired of listening to them, probably the Mendellssohn Op 35 Preludes and Fugues (no 1 in e minor being tops in the set imo).
if i just pick a favorite prelude, way on the other end of the scale its probably the kapustin o 40 no1 ("Prelude" even though it is technically an etude it functions as a prelude for the set )

Scriabin op 11 or Rachmaninoff op 23 and 32.
