Anyone teaching AMEB P plate piano?
on: February 23, 2012, 12:09:05 AM
I know this is a long shot but ...
I'm teaching my daughter a combination of Poco Piano method and the AMEB P Plate piano books.
I was looking through the 3rd and 4th Poco book and the third P Plate book and I can see that the
Poco book doesn't go as far on the stave as the P Plate books. Instead it continues with more complicated rythmns (dotted quavers and semiquavers). I think Poco is aimed at aspiring ABRSM, rather than AMEB students.
So there's a gap I will need to fill when we get there (next year I would think).
That's probably about time to hand her over to a "proper" teacher anyway, but I'm interested what other teachers are doing in this case, or are they using a method book that covers the same ground as the P Plate books?
