Nice video! I understand the concepts and that you have to throw in some chromatics when you're doing the ascending and descending stepwise bass lines, but how do you decide where to add them? For example, when you did the descending bass line, you played C B A Ab G F E D C, which makes sense so you land on the C at the right time. But could you put the half steps at a different place and still end up on C? C B A G F E D Db C  or C B Bb A G F E D C?

cjp.. yes - I use both of those, situationally though.. There may be some significance to the Ab choice over Db for example as that places G on the first beat of the second bar...    also, the Ab makes the bebop scale..  maybe that had some relevance, I havent watched properly yet, when I tried my internet was being a slow frustrating ogre.
