Sheetmusic - Classical Gas
on: September 19, 2004, 04:38:15 AM
Does anyone here know where I can download sheetmusic for "Classical Gas", for the Guitar?  All I can find are bloody tabs, which are for cheating excuses of musicians..

Thanks,
donjuan

Don't know if its complete/accurate: https://home.hccnet.nl/f.mesander/music/classic.htm

BTW, little black dots on paper have nothing to do with music  :P

Thanks.

Good point about about black dots on paper not having anything to do with music.  You are absolutely right.  I was refering more to musicianship.  A true musician will look at the sheetmusic and work to understand the melody and harmony, as well as the rhythm.  Tabs are merely for people who want to memorize where to put their fingers, and play approximate rhythm based on what they hear from recordings.

I used to have it. Let me check and get back to you.

O.K. I have it, but it's different then the one mentioned in this thread.

It's very old sheet music and I will have to scan it at work so I can't get it to you for a couple of days.

Does not seem as complete as the one mentioned here, but it's certainly much easier on the eyes and it's very close to the one in this thread.

Let me know if you still want it.

That would be great, Ron!  But please dont bend over backwards for me- only try if your edition is significantly better than the one posted, and if you are bored with lots of free time.  I dont want to cause too much bother.

Well, tabs are even less musical, they don't describe notes or sounds, but physical movement.

Here is my version. Cleaned it up as much as I could.

Use it if you can. It was a great hit when I was in High School.
Don't know how many request I got for it.

tabs are ridiculously easy!  I think the people who use them just want a cheap shortcut to create something unoriginal and dreadfully boring.

All I see is a grid and dots...

Well I guess the same could be argued when you see a staff with dots and stems...but the staff just actually even looks like music to any average layman terms kinda man joe.

yeeeah, I dont think you know what a tab is.  What it sounds like you are looking at is a chord marking.  Does it say something like "G7" or "Am" at the top?
