Hi, I want to learn some variations from the people united , not all of them because some of them sounds like "noise only" and people dont enjoy it , so i want to ask you what are your favourites  :) ??

ive never heard of anyone playing only a few of rzewski's movements... i suspect he may not be opposed.  perhaps pic ones you like and then improvise a lot.

None of the variations in TPUWNBD sound like "just noise."  Variations 10 and 33-35 have very strong references to melodic and rhythmic material in previous ones.  It would take an extremely unsophisticated ear to consider these movements "just noise," in the context of the entire piece.  This is not a piece that unsophisticated listeners will have an interest in, so why bother pandering to them?

However, more importantly, this is not a piece for unsophisticated pianists to play in the first place.

Thank you fftransform for the reply

First,I like each variation in TPUWNBD (and I dont consider any of the variations "just noise") . And I want to introduce that piece to auditions ( no one know Rzewski in my country probably)  ,but i think that more than 90% of the listeners have an unsophisticated ear , so I have to be careful in choosing variations to make sure they enjoy it ,thats the problem .

The thirteenth is great (very jazzy), also the twenty-seventh. I suggest you play the theme as well.
