Returning to the piano
on: March 03, 2012, 05:45:13 PM
Hi PS,
I'm new around these parts and was wondering if I would be able to get some feedback. I'm going to be graduating from university in a few months and am desperately looking forward to being able to practice my neglected piano once again. I used to be decent a few years ago (I played Chopin's 1st ballade for competition), but I'm afraid that's all gone now.
So, my question is: any suggestions on where I should start? I was considering starting with some Beethoven sonatas, but I also am wondering if I should start re-learning the fundamentals...?

I'd start with some of your old repertoire, but not the hardest ones. You may be surprised how much you've retained when you get going.
