studying piano and family
on: March 04, 2012, 10:18:09 PM
Hello,
I began studying piano and bought a baby grand at the beginning of last year. It happens that now I'm facing some resistance from my family when I study. I have an electronic piano also and always try to do the studies of scales and technique on this instrument, but as you know, isn't the same thing and every time I resume his studies in piano acoustic realize the difference of the keys and much more pleasure to play. I know that this period of study and very difficult until the songs start out, but I know it is will repeat every time because to clear a piece requires repetition of passages and that many times and boring to hear this. The piano eh a very loud instrument, and then decided to make a 10m square room - about 3.5 x 3.5 cm - would like to know how to behave to make a perfect acoustic isolation, allow me to study the night without bothering the neighbors and my family?
In time, I wonder if an instrument of 3/4 tail like a Kawai Rx7 would fit well in this space, or require more? I ask this because I want to go to college and change the music a piano in the near future ... will be a birthday gift to myself for my 50 years (I'm 47 years old).
thank you
Mario

ok, here is my 2 cents, I am having same issues when i do my recordings, so now after some talks. We worked out that the best time to do is 12am in the morning after everyone is in bed. and all street are dead quite.
The recording process only takes 20 minutes. we do 3 takes at most, if failed. Go back to drawing board. I suppose when you do your repetitions, you could always play it softely instead of fortimiso which does put listeners ear off. Playing from heart is differnt playing as a task. Make the piano sing will make them happier.I hope everything works out for you. any mor questions please free to ask.
