Should I practice with 'dynamics' from the start?

Should I practice considering the 'dynamics' marks (and phrasing) as soon as I start practicing a new passage, hands separated, or leave it until I have the notes under my fingers?

i'll offer a 'controversial' and alternate approach, it shoudl be used with caution/judgement based on your own tendency to be able to re-correct, if a work is considerable difficult technically i.e. thick textures, large chords, fast passage work, tricky jumps etc.

then i tend to begin the slow mechanical learning process (i. special fingerings, jumping/changing hand positions, etc) with deliberate F or FF full weight into the bottom of each key with tension free transfer note to note/chords etc.  i do this to really enhance  that my tone quality/i.e. full resonance/sustain etc and make sure the finger and body mechanics are learned, i still keep an aural sense of swells/cresc/descres etc but the actualy dynamics are exagerated in they're all a step or two up in volume, once i am confortable with the notes and particular technical challenges i start backing of the volume only making sure the amount of sound changes and note the quality of, i.e. my soft playing will still be into the bottom of the keybed where appropriate for melody, singing full tone, etc.

others will bash this, so bit it, it's helped me with more works than it's hurt, and i know from experience i'm not learning incorrect habits that i cannot fix quickly not too later as i continue to workout interpretive and musical issues.  

also if i need to use a different finger shape, i.e curled/more acute angle hand to finger tip or flatter for different tone (i.e. less attack on the front end of the strike)'ll try to incorporate that at the beginning.

again if you have a teacher telling you otherwise, while you're they're student, do what they say/tell.  this is just one dude' way of handling certain types of music on the front/note learning end. above all allways have a musical concept of what's going on first.  we make technical decisions for musical reaons and not the other way around (music puts us in  a hard place so we make technical decision to 'get through it' that tends to nor work so well...)

My professor taught me both ways -- practice with full force, get a feel for the hand movements, etc., as well as playing with dynamics.

I find starting off with dynamics to be much easier, because you're encompassing everything into whatever you're practicing.  And, like anything else, over time, it just becomes natural.
