Schumann's Drei Romanzen
on: March 31, 2012, 12:27:34 PM
I have a recital in May, and i will be playing Schumann's Romance no.2 (F# major). I am currently writing my programme, and i can't find much information on why he wrote this piece and what influenced him, apart from his love for Clara.
Also (i am quite poor at analysing scores) is there anything in the piece which is typically Schumann?
If you have any information it would be much appreciated :)

Regards,

Sam

Actually, if I recall correctly, that Romance (or all three of them, I can't recall) was going to be dedicated to another young lady that Robert had fallen for - not Clara.
