The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

it's interesting, all romantic repertoire, is this a just becuase program, for school?, is it free, what's the context, to me it seems a bit unbalanced in terms of variety of music from different major segemtns of the common practice period, usually if i see a full romantic program there might be a theme, i.e. composers anniverssary year, or all a particular type of work (a survey of dances, or works based on folk melodies, etc ).
i mean it's your program you can put it together how you want but if i were in the audience i would need a bit of a 'pallate' cleanser or two, some bach, scarlatti, haydn, prokofiev, stravinsky, copland, etc.

I agree since it's not a themed concert you can add something that would stand out in all of these heavy romantics.I wouldn't suggest bach but you can add something like prokoviev, shostakovich, even rachmaninoff,an uplifting piece, between the variations and the ballade.Because in my opinion the audience will feel like it ate too much syrup, if you catch my feeling. But hey it's your concert and whatever you do I wish you best of luck.
