Hey guys

I'm a new Pianist and an upcoming EDM (electronic dance music) producer and DJ. i joined a piano school today.

Since i don't really know a lot, and i know there's people here that could do this in a minute, i'm wondering what chords/notes skrillex is playing on this intro? I wanna recreate it and spice it up a bit for one of my DJ sets.

Not a bad start Xenos... but in Bar 5 the B should be on the top, not the bottom, and in Bar 7 the chord should be D F# A E. You got the right chord, just the wrong inversion.

Yeah, my bad. The E chord should be in root position (E, G#, B). I've just listened again though - I'm pretty sure the uppermost note in bar 7 is an A (got that one wrong as well!)

I'm guessing you have absolute pitch too lol

I would have said the key of this piece was G-minor, but since my piano is tuned flat, what I call a G might very well be an F# at concert pitch.  I agree with the chord progression.  However, the tonic sounds so strongly so much of the time in the bass that a case could be made that almost the entire piece is a pedal point on it.  In that sense, there would be no chord but the tonic, with various 7ths, 11ths, and 13ths chords as variations of it.

Nah - definitely an E. It's harder to hear because of the D F# A being closer together so you don't hear it as clearly, but it definitely is an E, so the loop can go back to the D in the anacrusis and repeat.
