Playing Too Hard?
on: May 08, 2012, 05:56:51 PM
Long story short, the keyboards that my school uses for large events are like sticks. Every time I play any keyboard, actually, especially these at my school, it's like they're about to fall off of the stand they're so fragile (and I play so hard). So any ideas about what to do about this?

P.S. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm kinda new and still trying to figure everything out. :)

Maybe you should buy your own instrument to perform on? I am not going to say playing hard is a bad thing - I was taught to play hard. Obviously the instruments you are playing on at school are inferior to your playing. Take charge! What kind of music do you play? What do you practice on?

Thank you! And I typically play hard rock with the occasional Bach or Beethoven thrown in for technical purposes, and I play that on a Chickering baby grand. I also have a keyboard (I think it's a Williams 88-key Digital) that I can usually manage on, but some songs still don't work on it.

Looks like you have a good piano with that Chickering. In terms of the keyboard, you may have to invest in your own portable that lives up to your standards.
