Liszt Album Leaf S163b?
on: May 15, 2012, 04:22:41 PM
Hi,

Does anyone know where to find this one? It's supposed to be based on the "Ah, vous dirai-je Maman" melody.

Thanks!

can you be more specific? i've never heard of a or b, i've always seen it categorized as s163, do you have source citatin or musicology discussion that talks about that theme in this composition? i'v never come across it, it would make interesting reading (the music history not so much the piece i'm interested in).

I was looking for variations on the famous "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" melody. Among them, there is of course Mozart, and Wikipedia at:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkle_Twinkle_Little_Star

lists

Franz Liszt, Album Leaf: "Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman" (1833) (S.163b)

And it appears here under the list of compositions by Franz Liszt:
