Hello
I am struggling to understand the fingering of Melodie op 4 no 2 by Fanny Mendelssohn.
Basically I have seen two sheets which show the notes grouped together differently.
1) The first sheet is shown here
https://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtdFPE.asp?ppn=MN0025618 and from this it looks like playing the notes on the g-clef with the right hand and the others with the left. I had trouble with this since it feels like the melody of the arpeggio is difficult to get a feel of.
2) Another sheet music which I cannot find at this moment is where all of the lower notes on the 1st bar are grouped together. From this I say the melody of the arpeggio easier and started playing this with the left hand. Making it that the right hand plays at most one note at a time(upper melody). This is easier for me!
I looked at the performances of this piece at youtube and saw that everybody played it like 1) and not as 2). So I am wondering what you think is best? Should I continue practice this piece in the way I like it ( no 2) ). Or is it an advantage to play it as 1)?
Thank you in advance
