To me, the most special piano piece would be Rhapsody in Blue, its as close to perfection as you can get!!. Of course its not the most difficult piece, of course its not the most emotional or breathtaking piece, but ask anybody who plays the piano, witch piece is the most fun to play?, they will tell you Rhapsody in blue!!!  I can play Hungarian Rhapsody #2 and Chopins Ballade #1, BUT NONE OF THEM FEEL LIKE RHAPSODY IN BLUE!!,, ITS THE PERFECT BLEND BETWEEN CLASSICAL AND JAZZ! believe me, its not even close!

Aside from my obsession with the Chopin Etudes and the respective Godowsky transcriptions, Alkan wrote some great music.

Absolutely terrible!

I wasn't much of a fan of that one either until I heard a recording from Horowitz.
