Total beginner

Hi. Just started to learn to play. Using John Thompson Easiest piano course. Question: am i playing yankee doodle (book 1) with both thumbs at the middle C? Sorry as I said...total beginner. would b grateful for any advice?

why dont you try to find tutorials? I use them and are very useful. especially if you are selfteaching you. you will see the positione of the fingers. I hope is useful. By

Thankyou very much for your reply! I have watched utube videos and all start with thumbs at middle c. Bit alien to me as i have never done this before. Have a teacher but breaks over summer holidays! Thanks for your advice.

The Utube link supplied by chechig shows what you need to do clearly.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
