Unknown Piano Warm-Up/Stretch
on: July 11, 2012, 12:44:10 AM
My teacher introduced me to a warm-up for the arms where you would raise and then lower them, using the specific joints (shoulder, elbow) individually, peaking all the way above the head. The aim was to concentrate movement on the keyboard in the shoulder and to gain "arm weight". She said that it was created by a Hungarian pianist. Has anyone heard of this? Where might I find more information?
