I've always had a soft spot for the 1st Piano Concerto, though I nearly broke a finger playing through it once.

And of course the P&Fs.

Haha, it wasn't my fault!

The piano I was playing on was built by someone who apparently thought the whole 88 key thing was optional. Shostakovich wrote that top C (FFF octave passage), I went for it (and since I was reading, I wasn't watching my hands) and instead of a nice soft piano key, I got the rather solid bit of wood at the end. OUCH!
