Bach Prelude and Fugue BWV848
Beethoven Piano Sonata Op.13
Chopin Etude Op.10 No.4
Chopin Scherzo Op.31

I have a lot of favorites by Prokofiev, but I'll narrow it down to my top five (in no particular order).

Etude op. 2 no. 4
Allemande op. 12
Scherzo op. 12
Piano Sonata no. 4 mov. 3
Sarcasm no. 1

My favorites change a lot though, so I bet they'll be different in a few days.  8)

Piano concerto no. 2, definitely. The moment when the brass comes back in after the cadenza is among the most awe-inspiring things I've ever heard. I wish I could recreate the first time I heard it without knowing what was going to happen. It was a beautiful feeling.

a very popular and frequently played (though perhaps not frequently played very well) excerpt form his transcription

love this piece.
